Securities & Derivatives Associate Analyst- HYBRID

Job Description:

The Securities & Derivatives Associate Analyst is a developing professional role. This role provides the opportunity for new employees to both learn about Fixed Income Rates Trading business and develop the necessary professional competencies to be successful at Citigroup. identifies policy and applies specialty knowledge in monitoring and assessing processes and data. Integrates established disciplinary knowledge within own specialty area in LATAM Rates Trading with basic understanding of related industry practices, and provides opportunities to harness new and emerging technologies to reach higher levels of operational efficiency. This analyst will develop understanding of how the team interacts with others in accomplishing the objectives of the area, as well as working knowledge of industry practices and standards. Must be able to exchange information in a concise and logical way as well as be sensitive to audience diversity. Limited but direct impact on the business through the quality of the tasks & services provided.

Our Operations groups are core to the success of the Markets business and have significant impact across the lifecycle of a trade.  We partner extensively with a range of internal stakeholders including Front Office Sales and Trading Desks, Compliance, Legal, Finance and HR; alongside having significant interaction with our external client base, playing a key role in the overall client experience. We have a client relationship group, dedicated to overseeing the Organizational service performance and strategic partnership for our top tier client base, where we play a key role in supporting our global clients to ensure they have a first-class experience when doing business with Citi.

Our Business Intelligence and Process Re-engineering group works alongside our Operations teams delivering automation solutions to solve for operational challenges.  We partner with Citi’s innovation labs to drive optimization, and overall play a pivotal role in enabling us to transform to achieve our target operating model.

Our Technology partners develop and implement a wide range of applications that support the Operations, Change, Design, and Implementation groups in providing innovative products and solutions. Responsibilities:

• Provide analytic and administrative support to Front Office Sales and Trading on derivatives and securities transactions.
• Support trade capture management, Front to Back reconciliation, trade confirmations and settlement forecasts, and maintain position records.
• Make process improvement recommendations based on data, and support the resolution of complex problems or transactions.
• Manage exceptions to operational flows and escalate as required.
• Design and analyze complex reports, and participate in, and support the implementation of projects as assigned.
• Identify manual touchpoints and leverage tools and operational reengineering to reduce manual touchpoints.
• Identify policy gaps and assist with formulating policies to support work process efficiency, and provide informal guidance/training
• Escalate, resolve, and support all requests, issues and errors, and disseminate or explain information to internal clients.
• Partner with stakeholders to develop solutions to complex queries or to enhance operational controls and efficiency.
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

• 0-2 years of experience working in Treasury Operations or Middle Office
• Good understanding of Treasury products, accounting and regulatory policies
• Ability to work in a structured, high volume, time sensitive, high risk and demanding environment
• Good analytical skills and positive attitude
• Knowledge of Macros

Education:

• Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience
