Director - Salesperson (Futures, Clearing, FXPB)

Citi has a leading global markets franchise in Futures, OTC Clearing, and FXPB which has grown consistently over the years on the back of a strong commitment to innovation and technology; operational excellence; talent and team culture; client acquisition and client service. We are looking for a dynamic and driven individual to join our NAM origination sales team and be part of our growth story, focusing particularly on the quant & CTA community and futures.

Responsibilities:

  • Leverage contact network to understand client needs, introduce Citi offerings, and convince clients to adopt it to increase client satisfaction/Citi revenue
  • Generate new client leads and close new mandates as well as expand the existing client relationships in Futures, OTC Clearing, and FXPB with a particular focus on futures.
    • Target client market – NAM financial institutions (hedge funds, CTA, asset managers, banks) and corporates, that are active users of cleared derivatives and FX.
  • Advise team in strategic positioning and closing transactions with various internal stakeholders (structuring, trading, legal, credit and risk etc.)
  • Forge a relationship with salespeople in order to leverage Citi's franchise and source relevant buying and selling opportunities for clients
  • Work in close partnership with control functions such as Legal, Compliance, Market and Credit Risk, Audit, Finance in order to ensure appropriate governance and control infrastructure
  • Build a culture of responsible finance, good governance and supervision, expense discipline and ethics
  • Appropriately assess risk/reward of transactions when making business decisions; demonstrating proper consideration for the firm’s reputation
  • Be familiar with and adhere to Citi’s Code of Conduct and the Plan of Supervision for Global Markets and Securities Services
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures as defined by your role which will be communicated to you
  • Obtain and maintain all registrations/licenses which are required for your role, within the appropriate time frame
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of sales experience at a financial services organization
  • While not an absolute must day one, a thorough understanding of the products is required to perform the job.
  • The candidate is also expected to be technical and have knowledge of derivatives, market structure and regulations, as well as a grasp of risk management and legal issues applicable to the business.  
  • The candidate should have strong relationships with key decision makers in the target segment and be able to demonstrate a strong origination/ sales track record
  • Must have or be able to obtain required licenses including Series 3, 7, 55, and 63.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience
  • Master's degree preferred
