Citi’s US in-house creative agency is looking for an Executive Creative Director to own its creative vision and strategy.

This position requires a proven record of success in leading copy and design through branding initiatives across upper and lower funnel marketing channels.

The key characteristics for this position are:

  • Dedicated leader – Managing a team of Creative Directors to implement a consistent and unified experience across all marketing channel assets produced in-house.
  • Critical thinker – Guiding the team to successfully implement and expand the agency’s scope of work to better serve the business’s objectives and goals.
  • Client advocate – Ensuring all assets produced in-house align with business goals and keep client progress front of mind.
  • Strategic visionary – Seeing the big picture and acting as a central figure in the expansion of the in-house team; identifying and onboarding key talent to further grow the agency’s offerings.
  • Accessibility expert – Demonstrating a deep understanding of Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) guidelines as they pertain to marketing assets, providing a consistent and successful experience to all customers, regardless of ability.
  • Continuous learner / Influencer – Promoting continued education to the team, introducing fresh ideas and providing mentorship to help retain and grow in-house talent.
  • Collaborative partner – Partnering with stakeholders and execution partners to equip the team with best practices and the latest guidelines for delivering top tier creatives.
  • Brand strategist – Maintaining a keen eye and strategizing the most effective methods of implementing brand guidelines to ensure a consistent look and feel that promotes the client's core principles.

Key Responsibilities:

The primary responsibility of the in-house agency is to provide their partners with innovative and dynamic assets that adhere to brand guidelines, the client's central messaging and ADA compliance.

The Executive Creative Director is specifically responsible for:

  • Spearheading the creative direction of the in-house agency.
  • Acting as the in-house brand and ADA expert to ensure quality and consistency of creative output.
  • Partnering with Brand Management and execution partners to help lead business priorities.
  • Working with the U.S. Advertising team on campaign pre-bids and contracts to establish file and software needs in advance of insourcing.
  • Equipping the team with the necessary tools and software to enable effective and efficient creative development.
  • Leading a team of Creative Directors to ensure consistency through all marketing channels (print and visual design, video production, UX/UI, etc.).
  • Managing a Quality Assurance team made up of a Lead and proofreaders to ensure quality control for all of the team’s assets prior to release.
  • Presenting to senior leadership; clearly explaining strategy and impact of the team’s involvement
  • Providing innovative, out of the box input when reviewing complex creatives.
  • Conducting brainstorming sessions in a team setting to continually improve the user experience and performance results on deliverables.
  • Collaborating with marketing and advertising partners to achieve strategic and innovative campaigns.
  • Demonstrating Citi’s purpose of making every client’s progress our passion.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of leadership experience, including a creative background (copy, design, etc.)
  • Agency experience (in-house agency experience is a plus)
  • Mastery of Adobe Creative Cloud
  • A proven history of design fundamentals (including typography, color theory, brand adherence and critical thinking with regards to creative application)
  • In depth knowledge of ADA compliance as it pertains to marketing collateral
  • Strong presentation skills and the ability to clearly and effectively discuss projects
  • Successful experience partnering with internal clients and senior leaders
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to keep track of multiple key priorities
  • Ability to adhere to a process calendar
  • Ability to successfully collaborate with local and remote team members
  • A BA or higher in marketing or a related field
  • Mac literacy

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:

$130,880.00 - $196,320.00
